Recap: Vincent Memorial Scots vs. Sweetwater Red Devils

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Vincent Memorial Scots can now relate to. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils on Friday. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for eight points.

Despite the loss, Vincent Memorial still got an impressive performance from Jacobo Elias, who threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. Elias has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Ruiz, who picked up 170 receiving yards and a touchdown.

It was another big night for Xzavier Crews, who rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries for Sweetwater. Crews is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carlos David Delgado, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.

Vincent Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Sweetwater, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.

Vincent Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sweetwater will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Monica at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. St. Monica is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
