Soccer Game Preview: Dunwoody vs. Woodward Academy

The Dunwoody Wildcats will face off against the Woodward Academy War Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodward Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dunwoody, who comes in off a win.

Dunwoody's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Arabia Mountain 5-0. The result was nothing new for Dunwoody, who have now won five contests by five goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Woodward Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell just short of Lakeside by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for Woodward Academy seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Dunwoody's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four games. As for Woodward Academy, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

Dunwoody took their win against Woodward Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2018 by a conclusive 5-1. Will Dunwoody repeat their success, or does Woodward Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
