Basketball Game Preview: Fremont Silverwolves vs. Layton Lancers

Fremont and Layton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Fremont Silverwolves will challenge the Layton Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fremont has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Layton will arrive with five straight wins.

Fremont is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Syracuse on Tuesday. Fremont took a 65-51 bruising from Syracuse. While the Silverwolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 17-10 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Layton beat Weber 84-71 on Tuesday.

Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Layton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Fremont came up short against Layton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 75-62. Can Fremont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
