Oconto had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They blew past the Algoma Wolves 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Oconto's got stronger as the match went on, holding Algoma to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-10.

Leading Oconto to victory were Braiya Wusterbarth and Sam McDowell. Wusterbarth had 18 digs and two aces, while McDowell had 11 digs and three aces. What's more, Wusterbarth posted two assists, the most she's had over her last 11 contests.

Oconto's record is now 25-7. As for Algoma, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season.
