Baseball Game Recap: Windham Eagles vs. Scarborough Red Storm

Windham had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-8 to make it five. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Scarborough Red Storm, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Red Storm when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Scarborough, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0. Their pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

For Scarborough's part, Nate Masters tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Masters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Scarborough let Finn Coburn and Matthew Fallona run wild. Coburn went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Fallona got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave Coburn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Wellman, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Windham is set to take on their familiar foe South Portland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Scarborough will face off against rival Portland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
