Basketball Recap: Milan Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Milan proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 23) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Princeton Tigers 47-45. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 56-36 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Milan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mya Pauley, who went 5-for-6 on her way to 17 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Pauley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marian Dabney, who posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Milan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-4.

Milan and Princeton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Milan (ranked 208th) will meet Hale (ranked 545th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Princeton will square off against Gallatin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 218 places (120 vs. 338).
