Baseball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Takes a Loss

Lafayette Jefferson fell victim to Kokomo and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildkats by a score of 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bronchos in their meetings with the Wildkats: they've now lost four in a row.

Ethan Lane put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Lane was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Lafayette Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Kokomo, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

While Lafayette Jefferson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
