Softball Recap: Eagle Point's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Eagle Point dropped their record down to 9-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Thurston Colts, falling 17-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since May 21, 2024.

Sarah Estes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kady Lindstrom, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

As for Thurston, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.

On Thurston's side, the team relied heavily on Kassy Anderson, who fired off three home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three home runs gave Anderson a new career-high. Gabriella Montes was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Looking ahead, Eagle Point is taking a road trip to face off against Yreka at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thurston, they will take on Crater at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
