Basketball Recap: Marshall's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Marshall entered their match against Denfeld on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Marshall Hilltoppers took a 79-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Denfeld Hunters. The Hilltoppers lost against the Hunters in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-48 score last time.

Marshall's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Denfeld, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will square off against Barnum at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Denfeld, they will take on Esko at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
