Basketball Game Preview: Cherokee Braves vs. Centennial Knights

The Cherokee Braves will be taking part in a tournament against the Centennial Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cherokee took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 70-52 victory over Hayesville.

Meanwhile, Centennial waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 54-47 win over the Trojans. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cherokee has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
