Basketball Recap: Buena Park Comes Up Short

Buena Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 84-67 bruising from the Laguna Hills Hawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 87-43 on January 3rd.

Despite the loss, Buena Park still got an impressive performance from Emmanuel Charagu, who posted 26 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Charagu a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Ernesto Portas, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards.

Jackson Burnham was his usual excellent self, putting up 33 points for Laguna Hills. The contest was Burnham's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Myles Mittelsteadt was another key player, scoring 16 points.

Buena Park's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Laguna Hills, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Buena Park will square off against Valencia at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Laguna Hills, they will take on Westminster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
