The Huntingdon Bearcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Bedford Bisons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Huntingdon's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Bedford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Thursday, Huntingdon came up short against Southern Huntingdon County and fell 5-2.

Alivia Nicklow was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Alexa Beyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Bedford had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Golden Tigers as they made off with a 15-1 victory. The Bisons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Emily Pratt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Pratt was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Bailey Mickle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophia Diehl, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Bedford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hollidaysburg only posted an OBP of .200.
Bedford's record is now 8-6. As for Huntingdon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Huntingdon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bedford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Huntingdon couldn't quite get it done against Bedford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
