CLEVELAND, Ohio - St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) grabbed the lead when Ryan Fallon thew a touchdown to David Dowell with 4:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to upset St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) 20-13 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured two lead swaps.

After taking the lead on a Mike Lamanna touchdown pass to Conor Hennessey, the Wildcats went into halftime with a 10-6 lead. The Eagles took the lead for good with a Fallon touchdown pass to Dowell in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring zero points in the third, St. Edward still trailed by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped SE pull out the victory.

Matthew Colella made a difference for St. Ignatius. The junior kicked two field goals and one extra point.

Fallon was the top performer for the Lakewood school. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.

SI's lone touchdown came on a 14-yard pass from Lamanna to Hennessey in the second quarter.

Led by Shaun Crawford, the Eagles came into the game allowing 17.6 points per game.

The victory will ease some of the sting of St. Edward's close 20-17 loss to the Cleveland school last season.

The loss comes after St. Ignatius defeated St. Xavier 32-21 last week.
