Trey Nurenberg gave up the fewest hits he has over his last four matchups on Thursday. He turned in nothing short of a gem, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pewamo-Westphalia is 7-3 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 8-11 otherwise.

Nurenberg's effort led Pewamo-Westphalia over Lansing Christian and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are a perfect 6-0 against the Pilgrims going back to May of 2018, a lead they'll look to extend.
