Softball Recap: St. Pauls Has No Trouble Against Fairmont

While St. Pauls put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Fairmont. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Golden Tornadoes with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Madison Locklear, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Hailey Ray was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

St. Pauls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

St. Pauls has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Fairmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Golden Tornadoes beat St. Pauls by a score of 9-2 on Thursday.
