Softball Recap: Redlands Terriers vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats
Redlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 12-3 to the Redlands East Valley Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on April 8th.
Mallary Conway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and ten unearned) runs on 12 hits.
At the plate, Redlands saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kierstin Madrid, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base. Sofia Akimoto was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Redlands' record now sits at 4-15. As for Redlands East Valley, they moved to 8-15 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Redlands will take on rival Citrus Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Cajon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
