Basketball Recap: Deer Creek Comes Up Short

Deer Creek was the 65-64 winner over Putnam City when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Deer Creek Antlers took a hard 53-37 fall against the Putnam City Pirates on Friday. The matchup marked the Antlers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Deer Creek and nudges their season record down to 10-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-4 Mustang (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.6% over those games). As for Putnam City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.

Deer Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-45 victory against Grant on the 7th. As for Putnam City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-29 loss against Mustang on the 7th.
