Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Comes Up Short

Patrick Henry lost against Hanover back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patrick Henry Patriots were dealt a 79-41 defeat at the hands of the Hanover Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Hawks are ranked 44th).

Patrick Henry has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Hanover, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will challenge Atlee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hanover, they will face off against Dinwiddie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Dinwiddie likes a good challenge.
