Basketball Game Preview: Collins Titans vs. Shelby County Rockets

Collins and Shelby County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Collins Titans will get right back to it and host the Shelby County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Collins is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bluegrass United on Thursday. Collins took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bluegrass United. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bluehawks 15-10 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Shelby County was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 57-21 loss at the hands of Woodford County. The Rockets have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Collins has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Shelby County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Collins was able to grind out a solid victory over Shelby County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 55-42. Does Collins have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shelby County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
