Baseball Recap: Pryor Triumphs

Pryor won against Skiatook on Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Pryor sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Joplin Eagles. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Bryce Pathkiller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since March 3rd.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Roberts, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Talan Foster, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Pryor's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Joplin, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Pryor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 defeat against Branson on the 28th. As for Joplin, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lebanon at 4:30 p.m.
