Basketball Game Preview: Central Valley Falcons vs. Anderson Cubs

Central Valley hasn't had much luck against Anderson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Central Valley Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Anderson Cubs at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Central Valley is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 69-32 loss at the hands of West Valley. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1281st, while the Eagles are ranked 619th).

Meanwhile, Anderson and Mt. Shasta faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Thursday. Anderson took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Shasta.

Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Anderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Central Valley took a serious blow against Anderson in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 69-37. Can Central Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
