Soccer Game Preview: Franklin vs. Union

The Franklin Warriors will challenge the Union Farmers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Franklin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Franklin came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to Montgomery. While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Montgomery are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, Union came up short against Bloomfield on Friday and fell 3-1.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Franklin beat Union by a goal when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Farmers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
