Softball Recap: Sequoia Ravens vs. San Mateo Bearcats        
        
		
            
 Sequoia lost against San Mateo back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Sequoia Ravens'  rough  11-4 loss to the San Mateo Bearcats  might stick with them for a while.
 Sequoia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Nisha Mehta, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
 On San Mateo's side,  Nia Mapa was a major factor no matter where she played. She  tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Mapa has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Mapa was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Hailey Wallweber was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Jas Bernardino, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Sequoia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for San Mateo, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
 Sequoia will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Capuchino at 4:00  p.m. As for San Mateo, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Aragon at 4:00  p.m.
