Baseball Recap: Spring Takes a Loss

Aldine hit Spring with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Spring saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allen Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Moore has become a key player for the Lions: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-15 otherwise. Another was Jeremi Sanchez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Spring has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for Aldine, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5-3.

While Spring had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
