Basketball Recap: Licking Valley Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Licking Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Watkins Memorial Warriors by a score of 40-30. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Warriors are ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Licking Valley's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Watkins Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Licking Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-47 win against Fairfield Union on the 15th. Watkins Memorial has also already played their next contest (against Northridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
