Softball Recap: Altamont Beats Pinnacle for Their 13th Straight Victory

Altamont had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. They never let the Pinnacle Panthers get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Kiley Crapo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Lacie Long was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Reaygen Miles also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Altamont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinnacle only posted an OBP of .111.

Altamont's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games. As for Pinnacle, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont will head out to square off against Milford at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinnacle, they will venture away from home to face off against Monticello at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
