Sweet Springs/Malta Bend won the last time they met up with Santa Fe, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Sweet Springs/Malta Bend blew past Santa Fe 54-20 on Friday.
The Sweet Springs/Malta Bend offense pulled no punches in the first half and blazed their way to 54 points. Santa Fe countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 54-6 going into the half. Although Sweet Springs/Malta Bend wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war.
Hunter Sims had a stellar game for Sweet Springs/Malta Bend as he threw two passing touchdowns and punched in two rushing TDs. Sims has now scored at least one touchdown in the past ten games. Jacob Hall also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
The win (their third in a row) raised Sweet Springs/Malta Bend's record to 7-3. Santa Fe's defeat pushes them down to 3-7.
Sweet Springs/Malta Bend will take on Slater on Friday. These teams both are strolling into their matchup after big wins in their previous games. As for the Chiefs, they do not have any more games currently scheduled.
