Orange Lutheran remains No. 1 after big win over Santa Margarita.

Arizona teams are on the rise in the latest MaxPreps high school flag football rankings (updated twice a week), including No. 12 Marana (Tucson), No. 19 Mountain View (Mesa) and newcomer Hamilton (Chandler), which enters at No. 22 after an impressive 4-0 start.

Freshman quarterback Marlie Phillips has already thrown for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. Her primary target is junior Samaya Taylor-Jenkins, who has 28 receptions for 312 yards and six TDs.

Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback Roxie Shaia is on absolute tear this season. The sophomore has thrown for 5,310 yards and 74 TD passes. The Oilers beat No. 20 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) 39-14 on Saturday behind Shaia's 386 yards and six scoring strikes.

MaxPreps has recently partnered with USA Football to recognize a national player of the week. In order to be considered, statistical information has to be submitted to MaxPreps.

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia and Illinois sanction flag football in the fall. Georgia has just begun its season and has not played enough games to be included in the rankings.
