Baseball Recap: Upland Comes Up Short

Upland fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Shadow Hills on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Shadow Hills Knights by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders/Scots have lost by just one run.

Issac Carlos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Upland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Ryan May also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Upland is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Shadow Hills, they moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Upland has already played their next match (against Claremont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Shadow Hills, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Carter on the 26th.
