Softball Recap: White Pine Makes It 11 in a Row on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White Pine). Everything went their way against the GV Christian Guardians on Friday as they made off with a 19-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

White Pine got a massive performance out of Camden Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Barbosa, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

White Pine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as GV Christian only posted an OBP of .250.

White Pine pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for GV Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, White Pine will challenge Awaken Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season. As for GV Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 win against Beatty on the 2nd.
