Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Lions are ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Corsicana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost to Midlothian at home by a 58-44 margin.

Red Oak pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Corsicana, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Everything came up roses for Red Oak against Corsicana in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 78-21 victory. Will Red Oak repeat their success, or does Corsicana have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
