After a string of five wins, Corsicana's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Crandall Pirates by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Santiago Centeno, who's now up to three this season.

Corsicana's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Crandall, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1-3.

Corsicana and Crandall should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Corsicana (ranked 199th) will meet Terrell (ranked 483rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Corsicana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season. Meanwhile, Crandall will square off against Ennis at 7:15 p.m. on Friday up 253 places (248 vs. 501).
