Softball Game Preview: Gulfport Admirals vs. St. Martin Yellow Jackets

The Gulfport Admirals will head out on the road to face off against the St. Martin Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gulfport is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Last Thursday, Gulfport earned an 8-3 win over Biloxi.

Meanwhile, St. Martin unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harrison Central.

Kiyara Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mia Boney, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

Gulfport's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for St. Martin, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-7.

Gulfport couldn't quite finish off St. Martin in their previous meeting on March 13th and fell 18-16. Can Gulfport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
