Baseball Recap: Mount Vernon Takes a Loss

While it was Mount Vernon who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Annandale who put up more. The Majors fell just short of the Atoms by a score of 4-3. The Majors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Atoms earlier this season, when they won 19-0.

Mount Vernon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Torres, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mount Vernon now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Annandale, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Looking ahead, Mount Vernon will welcome Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Majors will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Annandale, they will venture away from home to face off against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
