West Field scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Mountain Crest Mustangs by a score of 18-16. Even though they lost, the Longhorns' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.6 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

West Field saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Penland, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Penland has become a key player for the Longhorns: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another was Luke Penland, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

West Field moved to 11-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mountain Crest, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Field will host Logan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Longhorns are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mountain Crest, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Sky View at 4:30 p.m. The Mustangs will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Bobcats will have lost six straight heading into Wednesday's matchup.
