Football Recap: Williamsburg Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Colleton Prep Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Williamsburg Academy walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks on Saturday as they made off with a 36-14 win. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Williamsburg Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Small, who rushed for 140 yards and one TD. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Balder, who rushed for 40 yards and one score.

Williamsburg Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gamble Wilson, Michael Ard, and Balder picked up one apiece. Ard has been hot for a while, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last 14 times he's played. Williamsburg Academy received some extra help from Lane Patrick, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Williamsburg Academy, bringing their record up to 11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games. As for Colleton Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

As of now, neither Williamsburg Academy nor the War Hawks have any future games scheduled.
