Volleyball Recap: Peninsula Catholic Takes a Loss

Peninsula Catholic and StoneBridge squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Peninsula Catholic had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 25-15.

Deana Tavarez paced Peninsula Catholic's offense, picking up 14 kills. Tavarez got some help from Summer Spencer and her 24 assists. Tavarez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Peninsula Catholic's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 18-10. As for StoneBridge, the win keeps them at an undefeated 37-0.

Peninsula Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for StoneBridge, they will face off against Fredericksburg Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
