Recap: Gerstell Academy vs. Severn School Admirals
Gerstell Academy can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Severn School with a sharp 51-25 victory. That's two games straight that Gerstell Academy has won by exactly 26 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gerstell Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miley Alguire, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Alguire is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eniyah Stinnette, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Severn School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LAYLA EPPS, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Gerstell Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Severn School, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gerstell Academy will take on St. John's Catholic Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Gerstell Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Severn School, they will be playing at home against Northeast at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Severn School is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
