Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian School Comes Up Short

After flying high against Liberty last Thursday, Northwest Christian School came back down to earth. The contest between the Northwest Christian School Crusaders and the Freeman Scotties didn't end well, with the Northwest Christian School Crusaders falling 71-56. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Scotties are ranked 18th).

When it comes to explaining why Northwest Christian School lost on Wednesday, don't look at Avi West. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-22 to rack up 28 points. West is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 33 games he's played dating back to last season. Ben Slade was another key player, putting up nine points.

Northwest Christian School's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Freeman, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Northwest Christian School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Freeman, they will be playing at home against Reardan at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Reardan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 matchups -- so hopefully Freeman likes a good challenge.
