Mount Airy barely beat Alleghany the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Granite Bears blew past the Trojans 7-1 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 on Tuesday.

Garrett Norman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bryson Grey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Seth Williams, who earned two RBI and two stolen bases.

Mount Airy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alleghany, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
