Football Recap: Grafton Piles Up the Points Against Gloucester

There's no place like home for Grafton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past the Gloucester Dukes to the tune of 38-9 on Thursday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Clippers had established a 22-point advantage.

Grafton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malake Barnett, who rushed for 150 yards and two scores on only 13 carries, and also caught one TD. Xzavieon Hendricks was another key signal caller, throwing for 157 yards and three touchdowns.

Grafton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Brown and Bryden Biagas. Another thorn in Gloucester's side was Joshua Lawson, who forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Grafton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Gloucester, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Grafton has already played their next game, a 45-10 defeat against Poquoson on the 19th. As for Gloucester, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 34-0 loss against York on the 19th.
