Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holliday). Everything went their way against the Borger Bulldogs on Saturday as the Holliday Eagles made off with a 69-44 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Borger's loss came despite strong showings from Tahqulin Brooks and Elijah Guerrero. Brooks dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards, while Guerrero posted 11 points. The game was Brooks' seventh in a row with at least ten points.

Holliday's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Borger, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holliday will head out to challenge Nocona at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Borger, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pampa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Borger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
