Basketball Game Preview: Spring Lions vs. Cypress Park Tigers

The Spring Lions will take on the Cypress Park Tigers at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Spring will be strutting in after a win while Cypress Park will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Spring was able to grind out a solid victory over Klein Forest, taking the game 55-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Jaylan Tran had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (six). Dillon Beal was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Cypress Park fell 57-44 to Katy. The defeat continues a trend for Cypress Park in their meetings with Katy: they've now lost three in a row.

Cypress Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Spring, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Spring couldn't quite finish off Cypress Park in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 61-59. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
