Basketball Game Preview: Colquitt County Packers vs. Lowndes Vikings

Colquitt County hasn't had much luck against Lowndes recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Colquitt County Packers are taking a road trip to take on the Lowndes Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Colquitt County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They rang in the new year with a 55-44 win over Richmond Hill on Saturday. Given the Packers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Wildcats are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lowndes entered their tilt with Tift County on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Blue Devils 53-37.

Lowndes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Colquitt County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Colquitt County came up short against Lowndes in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 39-29. Can Colquitt County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
