Basketball Recap: St. Francis Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Reynolds Escher and Greg Howard

St. Francis lost against Walker back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the St. Francis Knights and the Walker Wolverines didn't end well, with the St. Francis Knights falling 71-57.

St. Francis' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Greg Howard, who went 9 for 15 to rack up 24 points, and Reynolds Escher, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Escher is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played.

Walker got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lorenzo McCorvey out in front who dropped a triple-double with 17 points, ten boards, and ten assists. The dominant performance gave McCorvey a new career-high in assists. King Daniel Hernandez was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Walker, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

St. Francis has already played their next match, a 62-54 win against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy on the 4th. As for Walker, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-51 victory against Landmark Christian on the 4th.
