Basketball Game Preview: NCSSM: Durham Unicorns vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers

NCSSM: Durham hasn't had much luck against Durham Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. NCSSM: Durham will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Thursday, NCSSM: Durham didn't have too much trouble with Roxboro Community as they won 70-56.

Meanwhile, Durham Academy played a tough matchup last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 80-52 defeat at the hands of Jordan. The loss was the Cavaliers' first of the season.

NCSSM: Durham will have to contain Josh Dorsette as he made an impact in Durham Academy's last game. He posted 16 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Malcolm McNeill, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 13 points.

NCSSM: Durham's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Durham Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

NCSSM: Durham was dealt a bruising 72-38 defeat at the hands of Durham Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the Unicorns, JJ Wilcox (who went 6-for-11 on his way to 19 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
