Seventy-First has gone 10-0 against South View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Seventy-First Falcons will face off against the South View Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

Seventy-First is headed into Friday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Charlotte on Saturday. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, South View had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They managed a 62-58 victory over the Eagles. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Eagles are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South View's win came from a few key players Seventy-First will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Yabniel Cheveres, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Darin Word, who scored ten points and six rebounds.

South View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

South View is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Seventy-First, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.

Seventy-First beat South View 64-55 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seventy-First since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
