Volleyball Preview: Pinnacle Panthers vs. Whitehorse Raiders

Pinnacle has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will head out to face off against the Whitehorse Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Pinnacle came up short against Monument Valley and fell 3-1.

Pinnacle started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-18, 25-18, 25-11.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Xylee Perry, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Meanwhile, Whitehorse had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-11, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitehorse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katiana Ben, who had five kills, five aces, and a block. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Eltsosie, who had five aces.

She wasn't the only good server: Whitehorse was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Whitehorse, their record is now 5-2.

Pinnacle suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Whitehorse in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Pinnacle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
