Baseball Game Preview: Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan vs. Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Chicago Mt. Carmel will face off against Saint Ignatius College Prep. The Caravan will welcome the Wolfpack at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Chicago Mt. Carmel beat Saint Ignatius College Prep 4-1. The Caravan haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Matt Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 games.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-21.
