On Friday, Blue Valley West faced Blue Valley Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Blue Valley West Jaguars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-60 victory over the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Huskies back in December of 2024, they had to take a 78-52 loss.

Despite the loss, Blue Valley Northwest still got an impressive performance from Ayden Mcgibboney, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 27 points and five boards. Mcgibboney continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Humphrey, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points and three steals.

Blue Valley West has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. Blue Valley Northwest's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-5.

Blue Valley West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-49 win against Blue Valley Southwest on the 21st. As for Blue Valley Northwest, they have also already played their next game, a 50-46 loss against Blue Valley on the 19th.
